Dalakhani filly French Response raced clear to score her first win at only her third start at Wednesday’s Murray Bridge meeting.
Another successful purchase for the stable from the Inglis Digital Online Auctions, the three-year-old was purchased from QLD in November for $4,500 and whilst she arrived with four moderate trial results to her name, her best was always going to be over more ground and with race experience under her belt.
Confidently ridden by Jason Holder – who has ridden French Response in all three starts to date, the pair settled worse than midfield and in clear air, making ground under a hold before the turn. Cantering to the lead at the 200m, Holder gave French Response an easy time of things over the last 75m, and she had a length to spare over the second-placed Adozenroses, with 6.3L to the third-placed runner.
With the stable expecting her to not be showing her very best until she gets out and beyond over 2000m, it is an exciting time for the team, as they are hopeful she will measure up to the better staying races for fillies over the upcoming Adelaide Carnival.
Congratulations to owners Mark and Michelle Minervini and Shae Dinunzio.
