It was a day of firsts at Taree on Friday afternoon, with the Shooting To Win filly Dulcima scoring a comprehensive when having her first start for the stable.
Transferred to Minervini Racing after three unplaced runs in Victoria, Dulcima was well-ridden by Mikayla Weir, who rode her first winner for the team. Contending with gate 14, from the 1000m start, Weir hunted the filly out of the gates, and the pair landed in a great spot, right on the heels of the leaders. Sweeping to the lead turning, Dulcima raced clear for a soft win.
Dulcima was bred and is owned by our friends at Evergreen Stud Farm, and races in the same red and black colours that have recently been carried to victory by the Group 1 winner Converge.
