Smiling Prophet delivered her trainer Mark Minervini with the perfect birthday present, with a fast-finishing win at Wednesday’s Wyong meeting.
The daughter of the former Caulfield Guineas winner and now Highview Stud (NZ) stallion Divine Prophet had been inching closer to a win in recent starts, finishing on the heels of the placings at both Randwick and Newcastle and a super Kerrin McEvoy ride was all that was needed for the mare to return to the winner’s stall.
Smiling Prophet was a purchase by Mark Minervini and the team at Minervini Racing from the 2021 Inglis HTBA Sale and the Wyong win was the mare’s third, compiling just under $100,000 in stakes.
Congratulations to the owners Hadyn Abel, Joanne Cotton, Alex Heathcote, John Lauer, Michelle Minervini, Mark Minervini, Steve Roberts, Andrew Shalhoub, Nick Shalhoub, Dailey Racing Syndicate (Mgr: Bob Dailey), Harts Racing Syndicate (Mgr: Rick Fitzpatrick), Bullgang Syndciate (Mgr: Jimmy Roberts).
