Grey gelding Essoess entered the Port Macquarie assignment at his fourth run in and nearing peak fitness and ran away for a solid win.
Grant Buckley settled the son of Choisir at the rear of the field before picking his way through the field and finishing all over the top of his rivals.
Essoess is out of our former smart sprinting mare in Splash of Moet (pictured above), which made the win all the more special for our team.
Essoess is now a three-time winner with a further seven placings from 20 starts.
