Star Impact has returned to the winner’s stall at her third run in from a break, scoring at Wyong on Thursday.
The daughter of the Deep Impact stallion Mikki Isle (JPN) put the writing on the wall with a much improved second-up effort at Newcastle in late May, and Mark and the team were confident that the mare was entering her Wyong assignment in top shape.
Aaron Bullock allowed Star Impact to settle just off the pace, before easing off heels rounding the turn, and running away late, for a solid win.
Star Impact was a $12,000 tried horse purchase by Mark Minervini from the 2022 Inglis December Digital Online Sale, and in six runs for Minervini Racing has amassed two wins, two placings and just under $60,000 in stakes.
2023 has been a breakout year for Minervini Racing, and Star Impact’s win was our boutique stable’s sixteenth for the year –
a remarkable effort from a team that caters for a maximum of 16 horses in work!
