Smiling Prophet has shown she is a filly of great promise, scoring her second win from three starts this time in work, with a tough win at Scone on Tuesday.
The daughter of Aquis Farm stallion Divine Prophet opened her account with a dominant all-the-way maiden win over the short-course 900m at Newcastle in mid-November, before drawing deep at the same course and distance and charging home from the rear into a placing a fortnight later.
Regular rider Mikayla Weir had the luxury of an inside gate for the Scone assignment and was able to fire the filly from the gates, continuing to hunt through and hold the lead before showing great determination and holding off all challengers to score a solid win.
Smiling Prophet was a purchase from the Evergreen Stud draft at the 2021 Inglis HTBA Yearling Sale and has now won just over $55,000 in stakes.
Congratulations to her owners, Hadyn Abel, Kylie Anderson, Joanne Cotton, Harts Racing (MGR Rick Fitzpatrick), Alex Heathcote, John Lauer, Mark & Michelle Minervini, Bullgang Syndicate (MGR Jimmy & Sandy Roberts), Steve Roberts, Andrew & Nick Shalhoub.
