Little House (4m Arena x Prairie) has kept her un-beaten record intact by taking out the Coopers Lager 0-78 over 1211m at Gawler today.

Placed to perfection as per usual, many other trainers would have been tempted to tackle harder events with the mare yet it really is a testament to Mark’s ability and knowledge as a trainer that he has been able to pick out a winnable race once again.

The rest was left to the tough and never say die Little House, who settled towards the rear of the small field. With the speed muddling and a few of the front-runners travelling quite well coming to the corner, Shayne Cahill asked Little House to improve and whilst she travelled well down the side of the course, once the leaders quickened up, coming to the corner, the mare was left flat-footed a touch and came off the bridle.

With challenges coming from all directions, namely the well-performed Dubai Me Diamonds and Aurumcert in particular, the three drew clear from the rest of the field to fight the race out with Little House fighting gamely to draw away for a gritty length win.

The mare’s determined attitude, ability and will to win will no doubt see her competitive in anything the canny Minervini should choose to enter her in.
