Smart 3 year old filly Womby Princess gave leading Adelaide trainer Mark Minervini his 12th metropolitan win for the season when she took out the Bent Creek Wines Handicap at Allan Scott Park Morphettville yesterday.
The Lacryma Crista filly, having just her third start for Mark Minervini after transferring from Greg Eurell's stable, was last and the widest runner on the turn. However, shortly after straightening she unleashed a powerful finishing burst for jockey Damien Robinson to round up the entire field and win by a half length. Starting at $11 on track and better on all totes (including $15.70 on Super TAB), Womby Princess now has 2 wins and 3 placings to her name from just 8 starts.
With yesterday's win, and the promise of better things to come, Womby Princess has given connections and Minervini (who also part owns the filly) plenty of reasons to indulge in the race sponsor's product.
